Last year, I made a list of ten fantastic women’s matches that I felt needed to be appreciated by more people. But clearly, ten wasn’t enough. Although, times have thankfully changed, there are dozens of fantastic women’s wrestling matches that have happened in the last three decades that were unfortunately overlooked and overshadowed by bikini contests and evening gown matches. It’s time to give just some of those great matches the appreciation they deserve: Here are 10 More Women’s Wrestling Matches You Need to See.
Wrestlemania is the biggest highlight in every wrestling fan’s calendar. This long-running event holds so many moments that we all cherish and will remember for as long as we live. So as we gear up for this year’s show of shows in Orlando, I’m looking at all of the various different aspects that make the biggest PPV in wrestling so special.
When the big show (not Paul Wight) rolls around every spring, WWE pushes the boat out in every way possible to ensure the entire Wrestlemania experience is as spectacular as it possibly can be, and the entrances are no exception. That simple walk to the ring is pumped full of theatre, showmanship and spectacle to ramp up our excitement levels before the in-ring action even begins. But out of all the memorable walk-ins over the years, which have been the best? Well, let me educate you. Here are the Top 10 Wrestlemania Entrances.
Wrestling is a wonderful thing. Part sport, part soap opera. But behind all of the pyro, the storylines, the spandex, and the razzle dazzle, the true reason we love this crazy world of sports entertainment is because of the in-ring action. Sure, we need all of the extravagance and kayfabe that comes along with it, yet all of that would be nothing without some good ol’ wrasslin’. This list honours those ring technicians that are at the top of their game right now, the masters of their craft, those that keep us watching and chanting “fight forever” and “this is awesome” repeatedly. Here are the Top 10 Highest Quality Wrestlers in the World.
As evident by my list of the Top 25 Best Matches of the Year, 2016 was an absolutely incredible year for wrestling. Even if you’re WWE through and through, you’ll be scratching your head when reading this one. Here are the Top 20 Big WWE Matches from 2016 that You’ve Probably Already Forgotten About.
2016 has been an incredible year for wrestling. A fucking terrible year for literally everything else – Donald Trump was elected President, Britain left the EU, almost every celebrity on Earth died, and Toblerone changed shape, but forget about all of that evil, at least wrestling was great!

2016 is almost at an end. So as one amazing year of wrestling comes to a close, it’s time to look at what the future has in store for us. 2017 has a lot to live up to if it wants to surpass the last twelve months of fantastic grappling action, but with all of these exciting events to look forward to, it may just achieve that. So here they are: my Top 10 Things I’m Looking Forward to in 2017.
What a year it has been for wrestling fans. We’ve been treated to dozens of incredible matches, entertaining characters, and memorable moments, but in this year of amazing events, who in this wonderful industry claimed 2016 as their own? Here are my Top 15 Wrestlers Who Made 2016 Their Own.
As much as I adore wrestling, it has to be said that it does have its problems. Possibly the biggest drawback of all to this industry is its clear gender inequalities. As someone who’s focused the majority of their university studies on sexism, feminism, and representations of gender, it pains me that one of my biggest loves in life is plagued with unequal gender opportunities, and at times, overt sexism. Thankfully though, gone are the days of the Bra and Panties match, and bikini contests, as the major companies have finally realised that the fans aren’t actually watching their products for partial nudity and mild titillation, we’re watching for some good ol’ fashion wrasslin’.
